Hi,
Can "American"(noun, indicating people) be used as plural?
Which of the following sentence is correct?
* They are American.
* They are Americans.

American can be an adjective or a countable noun.
In They are American, it's an adjective.
In They are Americans, it's a countable (and plural) noun.
In I am an American, it's a countable (and singular) noun.
