In May I decided to plan something special for the children; a Mothers Day tea. We had put our heads together to come up with ideas of how to please our mothers. We practiced singing songs, memorized poems and wrote cards. We decided to hold our tea the Friday before Mothers Day.

What does the underlined "tea" mean in this context?

----I can't imagine Phelps smoking marijuana.
----________.
a. Me, too. B. Me, neither

I know B is certainly right. But isn't A right, as well?
I was wondering whether "me, too" be used to express a negative agreement.

Thanks

Hi, again!

A "tea" is an event that is usually held in the afternoon. It includes serving tea (of course!) and small sandwiches and pastries. In Britain, "tea" is the afternoon break, and people eat dinner later in the evening. Many hotels or parties have "tea time" and charge quite a bit of money to attend. Teas are often designated for women, and organizations use them to celebrate, especially in the springtime. Mother's Day is a common time to hold a tea. If you want to know more about it, check out "The London Ritz Book of Afternoon Tea: The Art and Pleasures of Taking Tea." It will give you history and recipes!

B is the correct answer. As you said, it matches the negative sentence of the first speaker.

Hope you are doing well!
