What does 'Why not get them out of the way now?' mean?

Thanks.

The expression to get something out of the way just means to get it done, and the sooner the better. Usually it's something that's not especially easy or pleasant, and you just want to get it finished so you can be free of it. So, you could paraphrase this as "Why don't we just go ahead and get them finished now? After all, it sure would be nice to be able to go get a beer and not have to worry about finishing these stupid questions after we get back, right?"
