Dear Sir or Madam,
I recently read an article about environment called "Extreme weather: is global warming to blame?"(Science and Technology > Environmental issues > E > May 1, 2005). There is a sentence I do not understand the structure. "The current droughts in the western states are reinforced by shorter winters, result a possible of climate change." What's the function of "result a possible of climate change" and what 's the meaning of it?
Yours,

Trust me on this one. It's a typo. The sentence should read "The current droughts in the western states are reinforced by shorter winters, a possible result of climate change.
Writers are human and occasionally make mistakes: some that spell-checkers can catch and some they can't.
