Hi,
In the sentence "we can accommodate the selectional restrictions betweem -er and than and the obligatory nonadjecency between the two in a single structure" , can I use "the two" to refer to "-er" and "than"? |

It's OK if you've already referred to them as -er and than previously, as in your sentence.
Incidentally, it's "adjacency" |
