Which one of these are correct and why?

I don't like YOUR GOING to the movies alone.

I don't like YOU GOING to the movies alone.

I don't like your going to the movies alone is correct. Going is a gerund, a noun that is made out of a verb. If you substitute any other noun for going, the correct answer is obvious.

I don't like your shoes.
