Hi, please help me with the following sentence. Thanks.
This is not only wasteful of our natural resources, but it is also harmful to our environment.
Can I replace "wasteful" with "improvident" or "ruinous" in this sentence? |

Wasteful (Using something carelessly, extravagantly, or to no purpose).,
Improvident (lacking foresight, thoughtless).
Ruinous (disastrous or destructive).
Do not mean the same thing.
You could use, "prodigal", which means wastefully extravagant, and be closer to your original sentence's meaning.
If you decide to use ruinous you should note that it would be correct to write "ruinous to" our natural resources. |
