I came across the following passage the other day.
The song, "Schoolhouse on the Hill," goes, "The schoolhouse on the hill ..., happy days are gathered around me still, I never can forget." It is from a book of American school songs, written in the early 1900s. In the 1930s, a musical group named the Carter Family recorded the song, which later became very popular through the new medium of radio.
Which does the 1900s above mean, #1 or #2?
1. from 1900 to 1909
2. from 1900 to 1999
I think it means #2, but I'm not sure. |
