Hello,

Are "arrange" and "determine" in the following sentence close in meaning?

I would like you to arrange appointment to visit them for me.

Which one is closest in meaning to "arrange"?
a. compile
b. prepare
c. determine --> is it the correct answer?
d. order

Is there any better word to replace "determine" (if it is the answer)?

Thank you for your help.

I doubt that any native speaker would ever say any of the above. Prepare and determine both sort of make sense in a vague, general way, but trust me: it is exceedingly unlikely that anyone would ever say any of the four.

What people would say besides arrange is make or schedule an appointment. In fact, both of those would be more common than arrange, in my opinion. And yes, your sentence needs an article (an).
