Hello,
I have read in a magazine the following text:
Student club.
Commonwealth Trust
Organised discussion meetings, learned talks,
cultural events excursions to places of interest
and invitations to major British diary events
Open to overseas visitors and students.
What are the learned talks and diary events mentioned?

"Learned talks" are basically "talks" given by "learned" people; you might call them lectures, possibly seminars (especially if there are several featured speakers).
Note that in this situation, the word learned is an adjective meaning well educated and very knowledgeable about some subject. A learned person might be referred to as a scholar. Also note that it is pronounced as two-syllable word.
"Diary events" are basically special events that are scheduled to take place. (This is all British English, so I can't swear to what kinds of things the term might include.) Americans would probably say "calendar events"—events that you would mark on your calendar so as not to forget them.
Hope this helps.
