Hello teachers. Could you help me with the following question?
1. While they were waiting for the bus, they chatted about the baseball game.
2. Being waiting for the bus, they chatted about the baseball game.
3. Waiting for the bus, they chatted about the baseball game.
They are all grammatically correct, right?
How about the following sentences?
1. Since I was very tired, I couldn't do my homework.
2. Being very tired, I couldn't do my homework.
3. Very tired, I couldn't do my homework.
I suppose No.3 is a little awkward.
Are they also grammatically acceptable?
Thanks in advance. |

2. Being waiting for the bus is incorrect and doesn't work.
You could say, being forced to wait for the bus.
3. Is correct English. Still many people would say, "While waiting..."
2. Being very tired, I couldn't do my homework, is OK.
3. Seems to be lacking, "As I was"; "because I felt", or something like that. In any case it is not grammatically correct. |
