Hi,
I know when you describe a joke too lame, it means it's a bad joke.
Or when you say something is lame, it means something is bad.
But if people just say "way too lame," what does it mean??
I also search the phrase on web and there's a subject shows"5 movies characters way too lame to be for halloween."
Does it mean that 5 movies characters are bad?? not worth to see it?? |

"Lame" means bad in the sense of being un-cool, un-funny, corny, stupid, and so on. If a joke is lame, it is not very funny, not worth telling. A lame excuse is one that no one would really believe. A lame movie is a dumb movie, not really worth watching.
Your quotation just means that the five movie characters are not good ones for Halloween costumes, because they are somehow corny or embarrassing or something.
The "way too" part of it is just an intensifier, more or less the same thing as "very." You can say that something was way too lame / very lame, way too funny / very funny, way too expensive / very expensive, and so on. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
