Dear teachers:
I've been unable to recognize the difference between "in mind" and "on one's mind". Could you be so kind to help me? Thank you so much!!
Sincerely yours

Hello Sandy, The difference is in the situations they are used in. I use 'in mind' in sentences like 'I'll keep that in mind next time I do that', meaning 'I want to remember that idea.' I use 'on one's mind' in sentences like 'I wonder what was on his mind when he did that.' meaning 'What was he thinking about!?' Also, 'What's on your mind?' meaning 'What are you thinking about?' ok? -- Eric |
