Dear teachers!!
(1) Will you do me a service?
(2) Will you do me a favor?
Which do you often use, (1) or (2)?
I would like to ask you teachers about this, because I have never heard of (1). This happens because I may not have contacted a lot of English.
Thank you in advance. |

| #2 is what most of us say nowadays. "Will you do me a service?" sounds rather dated today, but was very common in earlier, more formal times. |

#2 would not be encountered often in America, perhaps in 19th Century Literature.
Much more common would be:
Will you do me a favor?
Will you do a favor for me?
Much more formal and polite would be:
Would it be possible for you to do me a favor? |
