I find it interesting that one person can make such a difference to so many peoples lives by doing one simple thing like waving and smiling warmly. His cheerfulness armed the start of my day. With a friendly wave and smiling face he had changed the feelings of the whole neighbourhood.
What does "arm" mean here? Is it a correct use?

To me it seems a strange use of the word and I think it's a bit of a stretch, but arm can mean - to provide with essential equipment or information.
So if you think a smile and a wave from someone is essential to your day, I suppose it might work.
Warmed might work better, though. |

| I agree it should be "warmed", too. |
