welcome to the forum. there are many teachers on this sight, including me, who would love to help you. post every day as you have questions and we will help you the best that we can. please read questions that other students have, as well, and maybe your question that day has already been answered. let us know if there is something that you read and don't understand. iitimone7

There are lots of free activities, quizzes, and explanations on the Internet too. You can always ask any questions you have here or in the "Help Center" Forum.

Oh, and by the way, you don't have to use all capital letters. On the Internet, all capital letters means you are yelling.

For me, grammar is just a tool. You don't have to know it perfect to communicate. I think the best way to learn any language is to acquire as much vocabulary as possible. There are many methods to learn it fast - flashcards, reading(a lot). A very important thing is pronunciation, it may help you very much, and I mean a lot. I see a big change in my ability to think in this language. I've applied this approach in my study of German language.

Some tools:
- An English dictionary plugin for Firefox
- A lot of resources to read about the topic you're interested in (for me it's Internet Marketing)
- A grammar textbook

Cheers

Will,

For me, if you want to learn the English language, you have to start building up your vocabulary of English words. I think that vocabulary building is the basic thing to do when you want to learn a foreign language. I have researched a lot of techniques in improving your vocabulary and I want to share with you some of these techniques that I consider effective.

Step 1: Read, read, read
Step 2: Repeat words several times
Step 3: Look at words with the mind of a child
Step 4: Have fun by playing word games
Step 5: Make it personal
Step 6: Use your imagination to create images of the word
Step 7: Practice using elaboration

I have been teaching English here for about 10 years.

How long have you been studying English?
