Hi,

I'd like to know the expressions used by native speakers of English to encourage people who are sacked. Thanks!

Haha, CP, thank you for your input. Very Happy That's indeed quite comforting and reassuring.

But seriously, when people are sacked and feel worried about their future, do you have commonly fixed phrases/idioms to express your concern?

Thank you once again.

If you are concerned and sincere, and you speak from your heart, you will say the right thing.

Maybe you could say something like this:

Hey, Jack, I hear you lost your job. I'm sorry to hear it. Are you all right? I'm sure it's just because of the economy, so I hope you won't feel like it's your fault. I know you are talented and smart, and a hard worker. Lots of other employers would be lucky to have you. Don't let it get you down. I'll keep my ears open for opportunities for you, and I'll let you know if I hear of anything. I hope you will get out there and start looking for a good position. Don't worry, be positive. I'm your friend, and if I can do anything to help you, just let me know.
