Hello, teachers!!
(1) That's the ( ) thing I should expect him to do.
(2) She was quite well when I say her ( ).
(3) How long will the fine weather ( )?
I know the answer is "last,", but I cannot understand the meaning of (2)
She was quite well when I say her ( last ).
Did she recover her health enough to leave hospital?
Thank you in advance. |

| It merely means the most recent time that I saw her. (I have not seen her since then.) |

Dear pugachevV:
Thank you for your answer.
Did I make a typo?
(RIGHT) She was quite well when I saw her last.
(WRONG)She was quite well when I say her last.
(WRONG)She was quite well when I say her last.----->Is this English?
Thank you in advance. |

I assumed you'd made a typo, but now you've queried it, I've reconsidered.
She was quite well when I spoke to her last...also works. You could have spoken to her on the phone and not seen her at all.
But She was quite well when I say her last is incorrect. |
