What would be the term for someone who teaches tricks to an animal or teaches the animal how to behave?

Hi
As far as I am concerned, "tamer" would be the right word you are looking for for that case, but it is usually used in compounds (e.g. a tiger-tamer, a lion-tamer, ... and so on.)

Thank you, again, rice07.
After reading your answer, I tried to find synonyms and it seems there could also be "animal trainer". I think I would suit my needs better because I need a word that is general enough to include animals and not only one species. At any rate, thank you for your answer because without it I wouldn't have found "animal trainer". |
