Dear shvetsov2005: My choice for the sentence is: I am hereby sending a draft of the response to letter #4557. Because the letter has a number, you definitely don't need 'the' before it. About the draft: I chose 'a' instead of 'the', because I assume more than one draft was made. Ok? -- Eric
