Hello, teachers!!
(1) With the increased use of the automobile, pollution in the cities gets worse and worse.
(2) With the increasing use of the automobile, pollution in the cities gets worse and worse.
I saw (1) in a certain grammar book, but why did the author use increased instead of increasing?
By the time, Please read the sentence in
http://www.jstor.org/pss/2312901
-----> With the increasing use of electronic computers in business, science and industry, there is a corresponding increase in the awareness of their potential value as scientific instruments, and of the problems inherent in securing their most effective way.
Do you know how to use two words "increased" and "increasing"?
Thank you so much. |
