Empowered originally meant - give authourity or power to someone; to authorize.
Tax collectors are empowered by the government to collect taxes, for example.
It's been expanded to mean to give strength and confidence to someone.
Confident means - having a positive feeling arising from an appreciation of your own abilities; self-assured.
Confident is the better word. Empowered is an overused buzzword. |
