You promised you would take the children camping, so you must keep your word.
I cannot understand "take the children camping". Is there anything wrong with "take sb. doing"?
Thanks |

If you would take the children champing, it meant that you would go camping with the children, especially guiding or leading them to the place where you were camping.
Another example:
I'm taking the kids swimming later. |
