Is the grammar of the following sentence correct, especially "order"?
-------- the following ---------
The Egyptians considered order a fundamental principle to their society and this was clearly applied to their work. |

| Yes, the grammar is correct. "Order" is the direct object of the verb "considered." |

| Order is a noun which means a state of calm and regularity, or acceptable behaviour; have you ever heard the phrase 'law and order'? You might be thinking of the noun which means a command, or the verb form (where you order someone to do something); they're all connected though, when people obey orders, you have order! When they don't, and they run around doing what they want, you can end up with disorder and chaos. |
