hello,
i came across the term "schedule schmedule"
while i watching the film "i'll be home for christmas".

i couldn't find the word "schmedule",can anyone tell me what does it mean and its origin?

Sometimes when people want to dismiss things as unimportant or uninteresting, they'll repeat the word but with a 'shm' sound at the beginning, to show they're not taking it seriously.

'Food shmood, let's get some drinks instead!'
'Meeting shmeeting, I think he's just avoiding me.'
'Canada shmanada!'

As you can probably tell this isn't a rule, it's just a thing people do and with some words it doesn't work too well!
