Pecan picking was really hard work and my little basket
was only half full. I wasnt about to let Grandpa down. Just
then something caught my eye . A large brown squirrel was
a few feet away. I watched as he picked up a pecan, hurried to a tree and disappeared in a large hole in the trunk. A moment later the squirrel jumped out and climbed down to the ground to pick up another nut. Once again, he took the pecan back to his hiding place.
Not so ____ anymore, I thought. I dashed over to the tree and looked into the hole. It was filled with pecans!
A.strange B.secret C.anxious D.patient

Which answer is more suitable? Could you paraphrase this underlined sentence?

Thanks

The answer is secret.
It means Not known or seen, or not meant to be known or seen by others

Now I know where your hiding place is, I thought.
