What kind of play is 'doing snow angels'?


The president praised Republican leaders for coming to the White House on a snowy day in Washington. He said the meeting went so well that Senator Harry Reid, the Democratic leader, and Senator Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader, were “out doing snow angels together on the South Lawn.”

If you lie down in the snow, and then move your arms up and down and your legs back and forth, clearing a spot in the snow, when you get up, the impression in the snow will look like there were wings, like an angel. The comment was a joke, and perhaps this link will show you the idea: snow angel
