Seven Simple Rules for learning English: Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat and repeat and repeat again ...
I send warm greetings to all members of this interesting site.
My name is Ingrid, I'm from Panama, a very small country but with an impressive emblem: Panama Bridge of the World and Heart of the Universe.
I study English in Toronto - Canada for 7 months or so and want to share with you this extraordinary experience.
The technique of repetition is a learning method that has worked for me surprisingly, I read about this technique in a very interesting website (this website will discuss in a forthcoming blog).
Seven Simple Rules:
1. Isolated words do not study English, study English phrases: when you find a new word, write the full sentence in which it appears. When you review, always looks at the whole sentence. From now on you have to be a collector of phrases.
2. Do not focus only on studying grammar. Although the grammar is important, but learning it takes a long time, not glossing, learn it on the fly.
3. Listen first. Learn with your ears not eyes. Listen to understandable English. Have you ever wondered: How I learned that song? How I can sing Marck Anthony's song without having studied the lyrics of the song for weeks? therefore very simple, because you have heard the song many times as you like and repeat it and repeat and repeat and repeat again until you learn it. (I love this point).
4. Learn slowly and deeply. Learn each sentence deeply and slowly repeat it until you get to feel the sentence. (It really works!).
5. Short stories with standpoint. I have worked a lot of children's stories. Repeat the same story in the present, past and future. It helps you watch movies a lot of children in English and put English subtitles. Repeat the movie again and again and again and again ...! I suggest kids movies because language is simple and very understandable.
6. Only learns lessons and uses material from real English.
7. Finally listen and respond, listen and repeat aloud, listen to yourself, your subconscious will learn your own voice.
If your goal is to learn English, you can get it with will, with patience and willingness.
This is my first small contribution.
Best regards

Saludos cordiales
Ingrid Lara
