(On a yacht)

At night she is lying in her bunk and tied not to roll out of her bed.

Is the sentence accpetable or too awkward?

Do you mean tied or tried.?
In a sailboat you can be tied into your bunk so you don't fall out, but I think tried might be what was intended.
In any case, if she is "lying" she would also be "trying". You need to keep your verbs consistent as much as possible.

At night she is lying in her bunk and trying not to fall out (of bed).*
At night she lay in her bunk and tried not to fall out (of bed).*
At night she lay tied to her bunk, so as not to fall out of it.

* A bunk is a kind of bed.
