We all learn so much English in school. I'm Japanese and I've learned for several years. I always had such a big interest about learn English but I still found it difficult to catch the main meaning in many American movies and TV shows. I have many western friends and when we watch the movies together, they laugh at all the jokes and I can only sit and wonder why things are so funny. One of my friends told me that my vocabulary wasn't the problem and got me to go to a free website about learning phrasal verbs. It is a kind of free email course that helps to me. Some English learning podcasts are really useful too to get the meaning of modern day English. The phrasal verb course is at www.learnphrasalverbs.com
I think this will help most people. After a few weeks of learning you should notice the same kind of improvement as me. I admit, I still have a lot of work to do to get better English. Anyone else have any good ideas or other websites to share? Thanks
