From the point of natives, what is the better answer in the above sentences?

Masses (plural) of work requires a plural verb - so - remain to be finished...Is what you should write.
A mass (singular) of people is(singular) waiting outside.
You will hear it said wrongly, and see it written wrongly, very often, nowadays, especially among those whose native language is English. You, however, should take pride in speaking grammatical English.  |
