Hello, teachers!!

(1) If she read it, then she knows.

(2) If she read it, then she knows it.

I found (1) in a certain grammar book, and thought that (1) should be (2). In my opinion, what you have to do is put "NOUN."

What do you think?

Both sentences are correct English, but we need more information to understand what it is she knows.
