I'm new to this forums but I have been a watcher for a long time and really like the sections of this forums.

I'm also jumping into the threads now with my query....hope u'll help.

-can anybody tell what does "I turned bright blue" idiom means.

I think you may have confused two or three idioms. Here are my guesses:

I turned bright red (or My face turned bright red) - To suffer such extreme embarrassment (in the company of other people) that your face literally turns bright red.

I turned blue (or My face turned blue... Note: not "bright blue") - Literally, your face turned to a blue color, usually for one of two reasons: extreme cold or lack of breath (for example, by choking on something).

Until you are blue in the face - When you are trying to tell someone something (usually, giving them good advice), and you know they are ignoring it, then you are talking until you are blue in the face. Your "words are wasted."
