Hello, teachers!!
(1) Jane was looking for something to sit on after she had taken a long walk.
(2) Jane was looking for something to sit down after she had taken a long walk.
Which is better English, (1) or (2)? I think that both are acceptable, but I am not sure.

(1) is good.
(2) would have to be:
Jane was looking for something to sit down on after she had taken a long walk. |
