1. He'll be busy, and she will, too.
2. I have to study, and they do, too.
I can understand the sentence number 1 "She will, too." because will is auxiliary verb.
I don't understand number2 why it said " they do too" . it should be "they have too." |

| One of the functions of the verb to do is to refer back to a verb already mentioned, so I have to study they do (have to study) too. |

The auxiliary used with "have to" is "do" (in American English, anyway)
Note: Do you have to go? Yes, I do.
You have to go, don't you?
I have to go now. Do you?
I have to study, and they do too.
In American English, we generally use "Do you have a pen?" but I know there are variants of English that use, "Have you a pen?" I don't know if there are variants that use, "Have you to go?" but I don't remember hearing it. |
