Does it sound clumsy to have "assist" and "assistence" in the same sentence?
"Our friendly and professional staff is also happy to assist you with any advice or assistance you may need on packing and delivery of the finished sculptures."

No, it's ok to use both in the same sentence.

Your usage is correct and it does not sound clumsy to me. If you were trying to avoid repetitive sounds, try "help" instead of "assist".
