Hi!
My name is Megan, and I am a Canadian girl. I am wondering, how does the rest of the world perceive Canada? Are there any stereotypes that you know of?
Please reply them here, I am rather curious!
Thank you! Very Happy

Hi Meg,

To me, Canada is an enormous country with many forests, very cold and wonderful landscapes.

See you

To me Canada should have had a better reputation (in military power and wealth) if it is not a U.S' neighbor. American images really overshadow this mighty Canada. That's why I often hear people in U.S. said ".....weak Canada"

Aside from the high unemployment, it seems like a pretty good place. Maybe those figures have changed.

There is a fair amount of Canada bashing in America -_- Though it is not talked about often, there was a war between America and Canada long ago; in the early stages of it's colonization by Brittain. Canada actually managed to burn down the White House. However America did capture the troops and.... Pluck out their eyes and place them in a bag, and sent it back to Canada... Otherwise; Canada does seem to be a fairly interesting place; it just doesn't seem to have a lot of tourist appeal by it's lack of landmarks. But since Canada's legalized marijuana; it'll probablly attract some more people; though they may be a kind of tourist many Canadians would not want to meet... Anyhow; Canada'd be appealing to me; as I have a lot of friends that live there that I've met online ^.^

Kinda sorta not exactly. The War of 1812 was between America and the British Empire. At the time, Canada was a part of the empire and not a sovereign country (and would not be for another 55 years). The United States has never fought with the Sovereign Dominion of Canada (except during that little Terrance and Phillip controversy).
