Hello everyone,
I'd like to know if the word "special" in the context below is correct and natural?
"The restaurant is having a special this week."(= The restaurant is selling its food and drinks at a lower price than usual.)
Special: a product that is sold at less than its usual price, especially in order to persuade people to buy it; the act of offering goods in this way= Special offer.
Thank you very much in advance! _________________ All the best! |

That's how you use "special" when it means a good deal on something.
Often restaurants have a "Daily Special", where one item will be discounted.
Also, "Lunch Special", "Dinner Special", Christmas Special and so on. They also use similar terms on TV and radio to mean a specially good (in their opinion), or unusual show.
e.g. Christmas Special, Valentines Day special, Soccer Special, Horse-racing Special and so on. |
