Please help check out the answer to the following question about tense.

Choose the INCORRECT sentence.
(A) He has ever been to Japan many times.
(B) I am not sure when he will come back tomorrow.
(C) The famous rock-and-roll singer has died.
(D) He told his son that the earth moves around the sun.

The answer is (A), but how about (C)?

Thanks a lot for your kind help.

Why do you think (C) is incorrect? (It is correct.)

In my opinion, I would say this way, "The famous rock-and-roll singer has been dead."

Is there any difference?

Thanks for your help.

Hmm. The first sentence is very common. It means the rock-and-roll singer probably died recently. The second one seems incomplete to me. I'd tend to use it with some additional information, such as "The famous singer has been dead for many years." or "The famous singer has been dead since last Tuesday." So I guess it sounds better to me if there's a time attached.
