Please help me with the following question:
(A) As well as reading the novel, he also watched the movie.
(B) He decided to lend Tom some money as well as finding him a job.
Which one is the correct answer? Does "as well as" serve as a conjunction or preposition? Thanks for your help. |

If you use as well as, you don't need also.
As well as reading the novel, he watched the movie. (If he were doing the two at the same time (unlikely) the tenses of the two verb should match)
He read the novel and (he) also watched the movie.
He decided to lend Tom some money as well as to find him a job.
Not as well as finding him a job.
You should keep your tenses consistent in a paralellism such as this. |
