I'm putting a sentence in Japanese into English.

Are all the three below good, if stilted, English?
1. I read the newspaper every day so as not to fall behind the times.
2. I read the newspaper every day so as not to get behind the times.
3. I read the newspaper every day so as not to be behind the times.

I think #1 is good, but I'm not sure about #2 and #3. What do you think?
