I want to know the differences between "though" and "although", can I use any one of them if I want?
Thank you very much. O(∩_∩)O~

Although can often be replaced by though. The only difference is that although is slightly more formal.
Some uses are not interchangeable, however. e.g. adverbial uses (it was nice of him to phone, though) and uses in phrases with "as" or "even" .
e.g. She doesn't look as though she's listening.
Even though he had sprained his ankle he managed to walk home. |
