Hi,
What does the blue part mean in the following lyrics? Does 'turning tables' kind of mean 'preaching Gospels at the store, Mark's and Spencer's'? as transformation from being sinful to being saintlike?
The priest in the booth had a photographic memory
For all he had heard
He took all of my sins and he wrote a pocket novel called
"The State I Am In"
So I gave myself to God
There was a pregnant pause before he said ok
Now I spend my day turning tables round in Mark's and Spencer's
They don't seem to mind
Thanks in advance. |

Turning tables round in Marks and Spencers might simply mean re-arranging the tables .
Some Marks and Spencers stores have in-store restaurants. They also display some of their goods on display tables. |
