Dear teachers:
I like to watch movies and listen to pop music. I have heard the lyrics begin as on our very first day or from the very first day many times. I wonder that the meaning of very in these sentences. Could you please tell me that? Thanks a lot!
Best wishes,
Yunan Chang |

| I think it is just used to emphasize that it was the first day. Theoretically, "the first day" is the beginning one; however, "the very first day" makes it even stronger. |
