What is the protocol for a book showing ownership within a quote. For example:

"I think 'Native Son's plot was great," said the professor.

-or-

"I think 'Native Son''s plot was great," said the professor.

-or-

some other way

Similarily, which of the below is correct (where no one is speaking):

"Native Son"'s plot is outstanding.

-or-

"Native Son"s plot is outstanding.

-or-

some other way

Thank you for your assistance.

"I think Native Son's plot was great," said the professor. Is the correct way to write this.
In a direct quotation you need only to capitalise the name as you have done.
In addition a book or film title is often italicised. Native Son.

Native Son's plot is outstanding.

The apostrophe indicates possession. i.e. The plot of Native Son is outstanding. You DO NOT EVER change it to a quotation mark.
It is unnecessary to put the title in quotation marks.
