Hello,
Reading an article, I'm struggling to understand the following sentence:
When you return to the surface, it is natural that you picture the cool, still freedom of the underground, with all its possibilities.
What does the expression with all its possibilities in this sentence? Does it mean that the person is reminded of the underground world at every opportunity (or anyhow)? Or does it mean the person thinks of the underground world because it offers so many possibilties, not to mention freedom?
Please anybody help me. Thanks in advance. |

Don't mix up opportunity and possibility. They are very different. Read this to look at some confusing words.
I think that your second suggestion is correct. The possibilities mentioned are all the things that are possible underground that are not possible above ground e.g. use of space, tranquility etc.
I hope this helps.
