1.-------------------------------------------------------
A:Tom, look at these animals in the picture. They are cute.
B:Yes. Look! They are cute koalas and small pigs.

QUestion: Is there any pig in the picture?
(A)Yes, there are koalas. (B)Yes, there are.
(C)No, there aren't.
---------------------------------------------------------
The answer is (B).

Q1. Is the answer (B) right?
If (B) is not right, how to rewrite the answer?
why?
============================================
2. Are there any pigs in the picture?
(A)Yes, there is. (B) Yes, there are.
(C)Yes, there is. There is one.
(D)Yes, there are. There is one.

Q2. Which answer is right?
Why?

I am confused with how to answer plural interrogative sentences.
If it is a plural interrogative sentence, how to reply by using singular answer.

Thank you

1. Answer B is right as is. Interestingly, the question is wrong. It should read, "Are there any pigs in the picture?" This is true even if there is only one pig. In that case, the answer should be, "Yes, there is one."

2. Answer B is right. It is short for, "Yes, there are pigs in the picture." We know there are more than one pig from the set-up, which says there are cute koalas and pigs.
