The sentence isn't wrong, exactly, but usually you would say, "Mom and Dad are in the living room."
We capitalize Mom and Dad when it's our own mother and father--as though their names are Mom and Dad, which is more or less true for us. Your mom is not Mom to me, just your mom.
On the other hand, if I am just speaking of my parents without referring to them by their "names," but just by their status, I would say (write) for example: My dad wants to meet your dad. _________________ You live a new life for every new language you speak. -Czech proverb |
