John likes to keep track, in a general sort of way, of all new developments in the natural sciences.
What does "in a general sort of way" mean in the above sentence?
Would someone paraphrase it? Thanks a lot. |

If "John likes to keep track, in a general sort of way, of all new developments in the natural sciences.", John prefers to maintain an overview of new developments.
Rather than focus on specific developments, he looks at the "big picture" of new developments. _________________ Educe22 |
