Could you help me understand the following passage?
(Her Majesty and Malone are in a casino in Las Vegas called Golden Palace.)
Her Majesty took a handful of chips.
The handful was worth, Malone knew, exactly five thousand dollars. That, he'd thought, ought to last them an evening, even in the Golden Palace. In the center of the strip, inside the city limits of Las Vegas itself, the five thousand would have lasted much longer--but Her Majesty wanted the Palace, and the Palace it was.
The part I don't understand is the last sentence: "the Palace it was." Is there some double meanings in "Palace"? I appreciate it very much if you could paraphrase this part.
Thank you in advance for your help. |

This phrase merely reflects the fact that Her Majesty didn't want to go anywhere else in Las Vegas to gamble. The Palace was her choice and the narrator basically said "if that is what she wants, she is going to get it." _________________ Educe22 |
